Get some "smoke" paint Mike! Tamiya makes it i both spray and can variants, so any good model shop will have it.

Wow, thanks for the tip, Joe!
I'll have to do some driving to get to a good hobby shop,
but I didn't have any direction beyond thinned paint, before.

No problem. :)

Tip: I recommend test-spraying at bit first because the Tamiya clear coats can be a bit tricky to get right. I had to redo my Jayne 1911 because I didn't have a handle on the spray pattern and strength.

I got the Tamiya smoke paint and a couple of shades of beige paint.
I'll be painting both Joe's hideout piece and the "cast-from-production-mold" piece I got from Phil.

I'll probably do Joe's version in nickle and use it for a character back-up weapon in "Fool Me Twice."
