I honestly don't think they're paying attention to us anymore.

Just saw that the Foosh rifle is up for sale:

Might be a nice start for a Sonic rifle
The screen used Sonic rifles were cheaper though

I don't think Andy/they/whatever-combination-is-appropriate cared even then.
QMx released a holster and a wristband during Badger's tenure.
Why do high-effort/low-return props when maquettes and swag sell like hotcakes?

I don't fault their business model,
but it's mighty disappointing from a replica prop standpoint.
Shoot-hell, at this point I'm reduced to begging for Jayne T-shirts.

Oh Well,

Don't look at me, guys.
My truck died last week and I no longer have the funds to buy props like that.
I'm gunna have to keep it small for the foreseeable future.

In all honestly, it's not that difficult a prop to replicate. Someone on the RPF did so not too long ago. I reckon I'll have a go eventually. There's just the matter of a couple one-handed gun props I need to get out of the way first!

I split the Fighting Elves shirt posts from this thread and put them in a separate thread in the QMx Corner

........my latest and most likely last prop acquisition,

the Alliance sonic rifle.

Here is Frank's screen-used example;

Image

and here is mine!

Image

Not screen-used and definitely a diamond-in-the-rough,
but it does consist of parts made by the original effects house that built the original props.

Image

These are the raw castings and consist only of the parts created for the original use of the prop,
the Foosh Rifle from the Schwartzenegger flick, "The 6th Day".

Like many pieces in my collection, this will not be a spot-on reproduction of the screen-used props.
As an example, the Foosh rifle has a beautifully cast , rubber buttplate; where the sonic rifle has the back simply blended in.
I'm not going to throw out such a nice detail for aesthetic reasons.
So, Ill just consider my sonic to be a different model...ahem...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Also, the sonic is part of the medic's costume for my dead-in-the-water fan film, "Fool Me Twice".
I like the idea of a medic being able to defend himself with non-lethal weaponry.

So, into the project queue it goes!
