Well, thanks for the compliment; and I am happy with many of the things I have built,
but I count these neural bleeders as one of my biggest flops.
I lost interest in them when real-life challenges and the amount of hand fit-and-finish work
both increased WAY more than I was ready for.

But honestly David, your collection is well underway to being one of the top Firefly prop collections.
You have already done a few I've never touched (the crybaby and the Lassiter)
and I haven't detected any loss in momentum!
Continued good luck in your quest, and you know ffprops is here to help as best we can.

Just duplicating the post from the marketplace thread:

I always envisioned doing the HOB Neural Bleeders in wrinkle finish black.
This is the paint I found.

After spraying it on, bake it in the oven at 200 degrees.
The instructions on the can say for an hour, but I only let it in for about twenty minutes.

Below are some pictures with notes on what to deburr.

When I assembled it, I used a light, clear grease.
That made it move smoother and a wee bit slower, which is a good thing.

I'll post pictures of the finished prop later, and if I ever sort out video uploading,
maybe a video of it working.

Well, it DOES pop open, mostly.
A couple of shots of the completed HOB Neural Bleeder:

Want!

I'd love to see some of these props become runs again. Even if the cost is higher, it would be nice to have the opportunity.
