Early's Pistol

Postby keelhauler » Sat May 23, 2009 10:56 pm

One of my favorite Firefly props is Jubel Early's pistol! I was fortunate enough to acquire an awesome replica made by the immensely talented joatrash from the RPF. The pistol is cast resin and metal.

Nice gun Keelhauler!

Here is the complete metal pistol I built. It was one of the first, that's why it's not 100% accurate.

I would have loved to have gotten an all metal one!!

For those that don't know, you can see pics of the actual hero pistol at the Firefly Archive:

That's alright, Keelhauler, Joe's last resin is in the mail to me right now.

I'm a professional leatherworker among other things. I'd love to make a replica of Early's holster.

I've been having a hell of a time trying to ID it.

Anyone know what it is?

It looks like a pancake, rather than a tactical holster, with two red leather straps attached. The barrel protrudes from the open muzzle.

Anyone with Blue Ray able to get any good screencaps?
The best shot is when he's coming down the ladder at the beginning.

Cheers,

Badger

Hey, I just realized that the symbol on my grips is silver but the symbol on F-N-S's and on the hero are goldish. Do I have the wrong grips??

Seem to be dark gold on my two Jubals as well. First one is a metal Joe Trash kit I built up and I managed to get a springy trigger to work. The other one I was told was a screen used stunt.

If it was me I'd just paint the flat black then dry brush some dark mixed gold or brass paint :)

I considered that, but I think I'll just replace the grips. Anyone want/need a pair of grips with a silver logo?
