Maidenhead bar bottles

Postby Tex » Mon Feb 20, 2012 1:59 pm

I suppose bottles may be a bit odd when it comes to specialties but I'm a big fan of booze from fiction. I am currently recreating screen accurate versions of all the labels I could find from the maidenhead bar.
EDIT: Cleaning this up since images have been updated

I found both fonts, but need help decifering the text so that it alligns properly with the rows on the original.... anyone have the pics used by the prop store of london on their website?
any of the bottles would be a great help. Trying to get all the labels just right.

Edit: Updated the work in progress pic. think I noodled out what it says pretty well.

I may have a copy of the label around here somewhere. Or at least Whitefall's take on it, from the old Propcircle days.
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I saw whitefalls take on it, It helped a touch. mostly gave me the pinyin for the ribbon and a clue at what the text said..
here's what I could puzzle out. lines up pretty gorram good I think. I got the fonts right and such. I like it.

thank y'all. I'm glad to contribute.
I'm pretty sure this goes on a 1 pint 19th century whiskey bottle (with a wax seal applied after the fact) Judging by the size next to the other on screen bottles. available for between 5-30 dollars on ebay. or you can google shopping search one pint whiskey bottle. It's known in bottle circles as a "dandy flask".

Geoffrey Mandel actually designed an Earth That Was bourbon shirt for QMX through Firefly Ship Works back in 2009. Don't think it was ever released, or at least hasn't been yet. Here is a link with the shirts. This is the official logo. Unfortunately it's too small to see 100% properly...
