Metal Mal pistol kits on iOffer ???

Postby xardoz » Fri May 29, 2009 1:41 pm

Mebbe on topic, but somehow it seemed more appropriate here - There's a person selling what seem to be new or NOS Sidkit Mal pistols on iOffer for $249 here:
http://www.ioffer.com/i/102244249

I've been jonesing for one of his Mal kits for awhile, but what with him dying it seemed pretty futile.
Is this Siderio's partner, a recaster or something else? Anyone know anything about this?

Sold.
But he has a second one.

"This is the most accurate, screen used like, 1/1 Firefly Serenity Mal's Metal Gun Kit ever made."
Um... Model 47 anyone? The seller does not know his\her market.

He's sold multiples of the Blade Runner blaster kits and the Bike trooper blaster as well. I've dropped him an email via "ask seller a question" about their origin. I'll post what the answer is, if there is an answer. Sadly, i can't afford to drop $250 right now, so I'm hoping this is Siderio's partner's work.

Sure looks like a Sidkit to me.
I'm guessing it's his partner, as he seems to sell a lot of the same stuff.

He better watch out or Richard Coyle will pipe up and say they've recast his new Mal pistol

I'm not so deeply in the prop community that I know all RAC v. Siderio issues, but in researching Sid to find a metal Mal source, I came across that Coyle claims the original Sidkit Blade Runner blaster was a recast of an older Coyle offering. Is that correct?

Also, I found this post by kurtyboy over at Propsummit:
Got my parts too, thanks.

Michele is also selling blaster kits at www.ioffer.com

Search for Blade Runner blaster kit.

Since the the Mal kit seller is the same seller as the Blade Runner kits, I'm jumping to the conclusion (whee!) that vulcan22 is Michele (Siderio's partner?).

So if Michele/vulcan22 keeps them available, we may have a source for parts and new kits.

NOS? Not on sale?

Not familiar with that particular acronym.

In the car restoration world, NOS means New Old Stock,
which means,
from a finished production run (Old Stock)
that has never been sold before (New, not used).

Maybe this is her way of saying she's selling off the remainder of Sid's production run?
