New Sidkit Mal Pistol?

Props So Nice They Had To Show Them Twice. Or more.

There goes Namebrand again, trying to twist my words.

I said the difference is grip shape was "whatever" which in context meant as a display piece it doesn't matter. It only matters as far as the fit in your hand is concerned.

The 47a is a nice piece for sure. It's the only cast brass gun out there and anybody who has one should be 100% happy with it.

Namebrand, if you feel the need to try to start more petty trash-talk, do it to my face.

Daniel,

Namebrand is twisting nothing.
Your allegation on the RPF is basically one of the 47a's 'inaccuracy'.

The grip frame shape, size and position were determined by reference to original steel waterjet cut frames from Applied Effects (who made the original pistols), cross referenced with a first generation Phillipes casting which I know came direct from the original mould for the stunt pistol, cross referenced with actual brass dressing shells from the run of those made for the two Heros.
Pretty good reference, no?

I know (yes, KNOW), from personally speaking to Regina Pancake of Applied Effects that the two Hero original pistols were finished in a brown coloured patina. She said so. You say black, the maker of the original prop says brown....

In what ways exactly do you think the 47A is inaccurate, Daniel?

All I know is that the 47a grip doesn't fit on the Phil gun. You can say what you want, but that fact doesn't change. I can post a picture of the grip shape not matching if you'd like.

Are we just letting the black/brown thing slide then?

OK.
Which generation of the Phillipes stunt casting are you comparing the 47A to?

When and where did you obtain it?

The generation of the cast doesn't matter, shapes don't change when you mold and cast, at best there's some shrinkage. I'm not going to bother discussing this with you, because it will inevitably just lead to you rage-quitting and swearing at me, like always. It's pointless to try to have a mature conversation with you. Fool me twice...

Generation does in fact make a difference.
Take it from a professional propmaker.

Don't be a baby Daniel.
You opened the can of worms by trashing my work on other forums.
Not for the first time.....

Not wanting to engage with a person who's just going to yell and swear at me is being a baby? To each their own I guess. I'm going to go now, I'm sure you'll want to have the last word as per the usual, so feel free.

I'm late to this party, but the heat has been murderous and I haven't felt like doing much reading. However, when I look at the thread over at the RPF, is it just me, or does the barrel of the Firefly version look like it's slanting downward?
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Mounting the barrel is the least-well-thought-out aspect of the Sidkit Mal.
I beefed that up with a 3/8th inch shoulder bolt coming in from behind,
instead of relying on a couple of minuscule button head cap screws.

Anyone may certainly do what they like,
but I recommend checking out my collection thread for how I built mine,
and then adopting methods that utilize their available skills and tools.
