So, is this the right one?
The color looks off, but I think that's just the photo.

I think I prefer it prop accurate without a fake display.

.
The outside plates can be removed and you can put rechargeable flat batteries in one side and a back lit panel in the other. I used CCF which side lit two sides of the panel. The power inverter was small enough to fit along side the CCF panel as well. Pretty easy to do. You can then add transparent sheets of your choice to enhance the look.
The "Memory Rods" are held in place on the cover using magnets :)

The Rods go in the top. When pressed down, the screens back light goes on.

I used a piece of gloss white vinyl for the screen behind the glossy photo paper.

Thanks for the advice and help on this.
Yours looks fantastic
What diameter are the rods used? I have a case coming but want to start ordering other parts, we have no Good hobby shop around here.

Plastruct 4mm red translucent rod HTAR4R
K&S aluminium tubes WKS0102, WKS0103, WKS0104
K&S brass tube WKS0129 or WKS0130...

...I think. Let me double check these sizes before you order.

Thanks, this will be a HUGE help. I will do some searching online and wait until I hear back before ordering. I did locate the items everything comes from the UK, our stores must be very limited here lol
Did you do the etching on the brass sheet, that is fantastic and if you care to make another like it, you would save me wasting several sheets trying to reproduce it, of course compensation and so my wife doesn't see several attempts thrown across the garage.
I take my hat off to both of you, this is classic work and what keeps others like me excited about building/obtaining more items.
P.S. I don't think my wife likes you though, her house is getting pretty full of stuff already.

You should be able to get Plastruct in the USA no problem
I know you Can also get it in Canada and Australia.

I'm looking into getting more brass etched sheets made.
