Or how about "Gerard K. O'Neill", author of _The High Frontier_?

Heck, why not "The High Frontier"?

If we're looking for a movie-based name, how about after John Houston's _The Searchers_? Just knock off the "s" at the end?

How about Appalachian? After the mountains, since a lot of mining is done there.

If not a name for the ship (which might simply go by the number the company assigned it), how about a nickname for the ship bestowed upon it by the crew?

"Ever Faithful"
"Shiny Girl"
"Drought Buster"
"Ozark Beauty"
"Georgia Queen"

Some other names, not so nick-namey:
"Winona"
"Sparta"
"Keota"
"Subiaco"
"Koziusco"
"Gudarian"
"Orel"
"Leola"
"Carthage"
"Aulesio"
"Palmyra"

Huh. I can go on like this for hours but I think I'll stop here.

More good suggestions. I'm leaning toward a woman's name. I forgot there was a women in the 'posse' named Jenny Grier. She was a large woman that kept a boarding house, so it's fitting.

Or, you could pick a foreign script you've wanted to typeset and go from there.

I redesigned the 7-Eleven logo recently, and added Korean text for fun.

What did the Korean text say?

"Eleven" :)

I would have liked to do it in Arabic, too, with an Arabic numeral 7, but I have difficulty typesetting Arabic text.

Can you not do Arabic in photoshop? There are several fonts that you can paste the characters into. I've done it by copying the results from Google Translate and pssting into PS using one of the Arabic fonts in the font picker.

Or do you mean something different when you say "typesetting"? I know so little about the graphic arts trade(being haphazardly self-taught from books, magazines, and YouTube videos) that I really can't picture what was meant
. ;)
