Fruity Oaty Bars

Postby Elisabeth » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:04 pm

I've been searching for a couple of weeks now for a really good Fruity Oaty Bar logo that would work as a granola bar wrapper - something that actually looked like the bar held in the commercial, not just the image of the commercial itself.

Evidentially the high of getting off of spring break and no longer having a play production to run kicked me into high gear. This is my first firefly paper prop, and I'd be curious to get some feedback. This is a rough idea, size wise, and I haven't yet measured any granola bars to figure out how a square would wrap around it. However, I tried to make the back sides fairly flexible on that issue.

I decided to incorporate both the characters and the English logo, as well as adding the Chinese text from the commercial to the back side, along with the girls. The characters up top aren't perfect - I need to pull out my tablet and perfect the paths.

Critiques? Feedback?

I love the fruity oaty bar and any addition to the FOB world is most welcome. This looks really great, Elisabeth! One of the coolest fan-made FOB wrappers I've seen. Nice work and welcome to the FFP! :D

No critique whatsoever.
I think it looks great!
As you said, you can tweak final size once you pick an actual bar to wrap it around.
Super job and likewise, welcome.

I just got around to actually making a PDF of the labels to fit the actual fruit bars I bought -

http://elisabethmphotography.files.word ... intout.pdf

The labels are intended to fit Walmart's Great Value Fruit and Grain bars - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-M ... z/10315228 . I used adhesive spray to attach the labels, unglued the boxes the bars came in, turned them inside out, and then glued some blue sun and fruity oaty bar labels to the outside. I'll grab some pictures later, because they look pretty dang awesome.
