First Part of Bellflower is out!

Not much to go on story-wise,
but I think it LOOKS fantastic.
I have high hopes for the overall story and presentation.

I REALLY want a DVD when it's done!

Oh lord... they're using a Capisen 38...
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Its got that adorable campy charm to it - def has potential.
The ship looks amazingly well done visually.

Part Two

Postby Yellowjacket » Tue Aug 27, 2013 7:10 pm

Part Two of Bellflower is up on YouTube. There are some excellent details from a purely prop standpoint. I've done enough Chinese characters on forms now that I recognize when they're printed sideways or upside down. It looks like they're using Namebrand's '10,000 Credit' bills for the payoff.

I like the guy who plays Zoran, the warehouse contact. He's got the world-wise, easy going way about him that speaks of backroom deals without being over the top.

Still everything I expected/hoped for from a higher-end fan film.
The only problem, the W-A-I-T-I-N-G for the next one.

The acting isn't taking me out of the story
and I think the pacing will be fine once the whole thing can be watched in one go.
Coolest moment for me was the shot AFTER the greenscreen of the Captain walking across the "docks",
where we see the reflection of New Melbourne in the glass door.

Still lovin' the Bell,
Mike

So, is this project dead?

From the Bellfower Facebook page:

Bellflower Firefly
February 25
Just to show im not totally lazy, and that something is still happening..
Basically these shots were not done on green screen, so they all have to be rooted by hand.
This is a mostly finished frame from one of 10 shots I am currently finishing off.
Just wanted to share something.

So, not-since-February seems like a long time,
but in the context of what is essentially a one man project that includes ridiculous amounts of CG work,
that has been in the works since 2006, it is understandable.
I really like Bellflower. I still think they have the nicest sets,
and I have enjoyed everything I have seen so far.
I still have confidence that the Bell will be (eventually) finished.

I hope so. Also, they have a backlog of mail to deliver. I want my Companions of the Month Magazine.
