Cool, BUT can you imagine the cost!?!? who the f*** will be able to afford this thing? Certainly not the average fan, to whom they primarily pander.

So, three sizes of Serenity, lol. What's next? Car size? They just keep making the same thing over and over again. how about something new??

I left a comment that the big blue SERENITY looks like 1:100 scale, not 1:24th scale.
I mean, I'm not taking the time to dig out the blueprints, but isn't SERENITY over 240 feet long?
Which in turn would mean a 1:24th scale SERENITY would be over 10 feet long.
Curious to see what their response is.

Well, it's the "Firefly" version of Serenity, I also noticed that it appeared to not have as much detail as the BDR, not just because its the tv version, just overall. There's no way this will cost more than the BDR.

Wellllll, I wouldn't bet on that.
QMx is selling their 3 foot Enterprise for $6,995.00 and I THINK they have sold fairly well.
I'm thinking QMx is looking to put an Enterprise price tag on their new SERENITY replica.

The Enterprise model kit is 36 inches for $95, add in the detail kit and light kit, build it yourself for around $300 or less.
The Serenity, these are the only choices that you have for the ship.

The Polar Lights 1/350 scale Enterprise NCC-1701A refit is shown here;
http://www.round2models.com/models/pola ... enterprise

I personally prefer the original series Enterprise, and that is available, too;
http://www.round2models.com/models/pola ... enterprise

Both are 32" long and it was rumored that QMx recast the polar lights edition to make their Enterprise.

Point is, the QMx Enterprise has all kinds of special features,
but they can all be pretty much duplicated on the Polar Lights Enterprises.
I saw an amazing one built up at a local model show.
It had a fully detailed shuttle bay and hydroponics lab, plus lights, running lights and sound.
The basic kits are around the $100 to $150 mark.
They can be built into beautiful static models by even a first time builder,
if that builder takes the time to learn online about basic, sound modeling techniques.
(Here is a 1/32nd scale B-17 being done by a first time builder
http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index ... opic=51012
a build many times more complicated than the Enterprise.)
I'm going to say that a replica rivaling the QMx Enterprise can be built by a modeler of reasonable skills
for around $500 and in a year's time of part-time effort.

This economy and pride in personal investment is why model builders such as myself
are so unhappy that QMx will not allow a kit to be released.
(Although I should talk; I've let two of them go to fund other projects...)

I bought mine from http://www.culttvmanshop.com/
The model comes with the aztec pattern decals. Not as cool looking as painted on, but, if you suck at painting as I do, it is a great help.

Mike is so right about the models. I have seen one with custom built display case, with controls outside for lights and sound, built way less than QMx. As for the Serenity, if Revell had been able to get the licenses to release a model, then we could build our own. If at sometime in the future QMx decides to not release the prebuilt ships, then a model might be released.

Ah, I was hoping you were referring to the Ent-D. Thanks for the link, though.
