Serenity Hull Art

See it here:
http://qmxonline.com/products/serenity- ... an-replica

The description says it's "screen accurate". I don't know what their copy editor is smoking, but he either needs to quit or share it with the rest of us, cuz I'm just not seeing it.

Sigh......four hundred bucks for a similar-to-SERENITY, one-third scale emblem painted on a piece of aluminum.
And we all know that five hundred years from now,
the exterior panels on atmo-breaking space craft will be held together with hex head bolts,
not, say flush rivets like was invented in the early twentieth century...
...jus' sayin'...................

Screen accurate.

This design is based on the 'rebuilt' Serenity of the series. First, the lettering on that version of the logo was outlined in black. Second, that panel bowed in, not out. Third, the detail of the early two CGI models had no rivets in that location and the panel is the wrong color. Apart from being absolutely wrong, it's dead on.

I tried to find a screencap, but as I recollect, While the SERENITY lettering was boxy in the series
(as opposed to script in the BDM)
I was thinking that the lettering still bisected the SERENITY emblem?
But as a machinist/ mechanic, those hex bolts just make the hair stand up on my neck.
Shoot, even pop rivets would look better, and be cheaper, too.

The shape of the panel is also wrong and it angles closer to the word serenity than the so called 'replica'. Image

I'm shocked.
I can't believe QMx would produce something that they'd just made up and are selling as screen accurate!!!!!

They have the official license and therefore access to all existing production material, and the people who produced it for the show. Plus DVD and Bluray reference.

The answer can be only be laziness, or indifference to fans, or a combination of both.
