Okay, I'm new to this, but is this about a new metal pistol that is coming out, or is it about the QMX Malcolm Reynolds Metal-Plated Pistol Replica of which I have one.

Sans barrel, at the moment...

This is quite an old thread.....
April last year.

This was about a possible QMx all metal Mal, which will simply not happen.

Thanks for the explanation badger!

I have the current QMX version that I am extremely happy with.

Or was, because it slipped off the display stand, causing the barrel to come off.

Been trying to figure out what to do now.

Contacted QMX and they were nice enough to let me know that if I had bought it directly from them, they could send a replacement.

But as they quite rightly pointed out, I had not bought it from them but from a german guy who sold them trhough ebay and I should work it out with him.

Funnily enough it would have been cheaper for me to buy it directly off QMX, but I figured a parcel from Germany would have less trouble getting through Dutch customs than something coming from the US.

Turns out the german guy is being a bit difficult and refers me back to his as yet unnamed distributor. Or as he put it himself: "Our distributor says now: The handling of the item was not carefully."

Kind of at a loss myself about what to do now.

Thinking of ordering a new one from QMX now.

Drill the barrel end, drill the body, glue in a rigid pin. Glue the broken ends together.

Good as new!

Well, I did try to glue it together, but all that did was damage the paintjob.

I'm guessing I had the wrong glue....

What kind of glue would you recommend?

2-part epoxy will do the trick. Or the thick kind of superglue. I would def recommend the former.

JB Weld.

Rough the surfaces well and degrease with 99% alcohol first. Clamp right away and don't touch it for 24 hours.

The german guy came through and gave me a full refund. Absolutely amazing!

So I just ordered a new one from QMX.

Fix the old one anyway, sell it to get some money back?
