47 and 47A Side by Side

Postby namebrand » Sun Jun 23, 2013 5:53 pm

Last weekend, June 15th, was the Toronto Prop Party (http://www.torontopropparty.com) and this year one of the attendees was a professional photographer so he brought his set-up and was taking pics of the event as well as people's props if they wanted. So I decided I needed to finally get some really nice pics of my 47 and 47A!

So here is my 47 which was torn down, refinished/repatinated, rebuilt and a "Mal" weathering job by me. Beside her is my 47A which was built LONG after all the other 47As that I had to assemble. It has a few customizations to it, mainly the frame, and my "Mal" weathering job, which by the point I did it I developed a few extra techniques for weathering the 47A.

Just the one pic for now, hopefully more once I get them!

And of course I had a couple other props photographed. My customized 1:18 Hot Wheels Elite Ecto-1 (has custom lights and sound that I developed for this model).

And my proton pack, with lights turned off, and plenty of dust...which only adds to the look to me!

Beautiful props and outstanding photography! Do you have a video you can share of Ecto-1?

The 47's are awesome! The Ecto, excellent custom work. The Proton Pack looks "real", or as seen in the movie, and I now know who to call. :D

Nice to see the 47 and 47A together John.

Great work on the Ecto and Pack. Lovely.

Almost...but not quite! ;)

One thing that I love about the 47 and 47A is that with age the patina seems to get darker! The dark areas approach black more and more with time and the bright brass "worn" areas take on a richer tone as well. To me they look better the older they get!

Karl did a fantastic job with both models and I am very proud to have been part of the 47A!

That Ecto-1 is a very nice piece of work. I'm in love.
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Great pictures. Your proton pack is awesome. I always wanted to build one, but never got to it.
I have a slime blower, though :D
