The kit would likely consist of:

Brass coloured resin parts, with drill centre dimples.
Steel coloured resin parts.
Steel knurled thumbscrews, blackened.
Steel trigger and return spring.
A complete set of steel dressing screws,
CNC machined walnut grips, unfinished.
Removable magazine, with mounting magnets.
Aluminium barrel insert tube.
Possibly a real brass safety lever.

About $150 or so....

This is going away, isn't it? :(

You guys have to understand that I can only act for and on behalf of QMx in projects relating to Firefly and Serenity. So I won't be making these for sale myself.

It need not go away though, it simply needs to be flagged on QMx's radar so that the company knows you guys want these kits.

Say so here, I'll pass it up the line and QMx will make a decision as the whether or not to produce the kit.
QMx does listen to the fans. I found that out very early on. It's one of the reasons I signed on, they really do care what you guys think and what you guys want. I wouldn't be involved otherwise.

There are lots of very cool projects in the pipe. If you want a Mal pistol resin kit, say so :)

Hey Badger,

I do get it- hence the post. I can't afford the metal pistol you're making, so I had my eye on this one. I hope something high quality and affordable can be accomplised in a kit like this. By the bye, congrats on the new postition!

I agree. Having the kit come disassembled would allow for ease of painting each component of it separately, without fear of painting of the parts a colour they're not supposed to be.

I know most folks would be able to mask off each differently painted/coloured area easily, but this way one would avoid any possible bleeding of paint from one area to another. Makes it a little more fool proof, imho.

Of course, if QMX managed to fabricate such a kit as Badger described in Post # 07 on the first page, with brass and steel coloured parts, then the whole issue of masking off the different areas for painting would be eliminated.

That'd be awesome.
