If it comes to it, my brother works at a plastic company and with a stand to work with, or a good set of measurements, he could recreate one in CAD and have them made.

I have no idea what the price would be until I ask though. A lot of time this boss lets him do stuff for the 501st for material costs, but that's dependent on his mood at the time of asking.

Still, worth a shot if the interest is there.
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I think the interest would be there for an nice clear acrylic stand - something this beautiful can't just lie on the shelf!

I like the idea of a stand, but I am opting for a nice wooden display box with velvet lining. I just feel something this nice has to have a nice place to "rest." :D

Would be very interested in this. I have a retail glass display case for my replica firearms. All I need is a stand and a plaque.

I'm not trying to thread-jack...but I thought you guys might want to see this, and this seems like a good place to post it.

I bid on a remnant of a bronze Civil War era octagonal pistol barrel the other day with the thought of possibly using it on some Firefly-esque project.

A really neat piece...too bad I didn't win the eBay auction.

Dangit, it looks my 'thread-killer' skills are still as deadly as ever. <grin> Figured you guys would like to have seen that bronze pistol barrel. My apologies to the O.P.

Yes, I would be very interested in a case and plaque as well. Let us know how that turns out.

I don't know if this will help, but Hobby Lobby has shadow box frames, display cases, and flag cases for 50% off, and it ends Saturday.

Joe, thanks for the pic and comparison/review. I remember when the run of 47's was going on and I was crushed that I just couldn't afford one at that time.
I'm really glad I was able to get in on the 47A project and I'm really excited to get it. This promises to be one of the central pieces in my collection.
