Early derelict from the pilot episode

Not to be confused with the 'derelict' from Bushwhacked, this is an early model for the derelict for the salvage scene in the pilot episode. It was circulated with early shots of ships and CGI imagery.

Awesome find, and a missed chance, maybe, in a future episode!

Where did you find pictures?

Now, I am in trouble for asking....two by two....

I was sorting through a really old archive of Firefly things and found them. I don't even remember where I got them from, except that the images of 'Serenity' throughout the document are all the earliest 'pilot' model of the ship back before they made the changes to the CGI model they used most through the series. The other images are of the Trans-U, which look as near to the screen used one as I can tell.

These images were a part of something called the "Firefly Reference Guide" and labeled specifically for "Serenity Episode 3 (Pilot)" which is accurate if you know that they rejected the first two versions of the pilot.

Unfortunately, they are scans of the original and of a very poor quality. Here's the only other picture of the salvage derelict from the pilot after it was damaged and torn up for the scene.

That is very cool.
I'm always amazed when something new comes out of the woodwork after all these years!

Poor quality or not, they are treasures, and thrilling to see.
