Alliance food bars

Purchased these from the ebay seller (Greg Kramer) see http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %26ps%3D10

The Letter of Authenticity states that the bars were cast from one of five known production molds made for the series. I like the bars but I beleive that I will sand them smoother and repaint.

I gotta say I'm not too keen on his paint job.

Other than that it's pretty neato.

I've said it before on the RPF that I'd like to get a set of measurement so I can noodle it out on my Rhino 3D app and make molds for granola/chocolate/whatever food bars.
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I'll have time to photograph and dimension one of these next week.

Reckon I better brush up on the finer points of the app then.

Goodwolf, if it helps I will send you one of my bars so you can take the appropriate measurements. I would love to have a mold to cast my own foodstuff (are we recasters if we only use it for real food?).

That's very generous, Thomas. Mike is supposed to be sending me some measurements of his, and I may actually buy one of my own. And I'd feel like a complete ass if something happened to your bar, even if it were out of my control.

With regards to the recasting... tricky, although I've stated that it's my experience that the line seems to move with how badly people want the item.

I personally feel like what I'm doing is kosher, but then again, I'm biased. My defense is I'm not recasting per se, but... rebuilding it from the ground up.

I dunno, if too many people were to get bent out of shape over it, I wouldn't do it. No need for hard feelings after all.

And I've heard rumors that the seller has considered making food molds. If he did I would definitely not want to step on his toes.

So I guess we'll see how it pans out.

I've started dimensioning this.
I didn't forget; probably have it posted tomorrow/Friday.

Took dimensions with dial calipers.
Dimensions are in inches to three places.

Hope that helps,

I've always wanted a whole case of these, so I look forward to the replicas coming out of this thread.
