Sheriff's Phone

Has anybody ID'd this phone? It looks like a found item, to me.

Looks like something off the Galactica! :)

Gotta be a military field phone of some sort.
Prob'ly Motorola. Rubber buttons indicate it's not terribly old. Vietnam era or newer I'd wager.

The Galactica phones were military field phones and quite common, but I'm not sure about this one since the receiver seems to hang and wouldn't be very practical in the field if it kept falling off!

That phone hangs so low I'm wondering if the whole thing isn't upside down. Only that leaves the cord going into the top...
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Another of the phones are in Badger's Den of Thieves, in Serenity.

If the ends of the phone are brass, it could be a shipboard handset. The real tell would be if it just had a single pushbutton in the middle of the handset itself. Unfortunately we can't see it in that view.

The phone "box" portion is definately not navy. At least not from the ancient carrier I was on.

20th Century Props auctioned some of these phones a few months ago.
They weren't described as being used on the show, but they're the same style.

Guys, those handsets REALLY look like the shipboard ones I described. The depth of the ear and talking pieces are what really make it look like the ones I used on the carrier.

So perhaps the boxes and handpieces come frome different areas and were put together for these shows?
