Filming Locations

The filming location booklet I bought had no info on the town of Paradiso.



In "Still Flying", the locations article mentions the Tropico Gold mine outside of Rosamond.



I tried just looking at the Google satellite images, but I didn't really know what I was looking for.

I found this picture:



and then searched abandoned mine forums and sites until I found this set of directions:



By knowing where to look and what I was looking for, I got this image:



I'm not quite sure where the mag-lev rails are, tho'

In the episode screen cap image with the Paradiso sign, there is a two story building on the left of the street.

I believe we see that same building near to center of this image, along the street.


To the left of the two story, is a one story with a blue/white van in front of it, and some white doors behind the van.
I'd say that the square rusted iron structure we're seeing in front of those white doors is a maglev train disembarkation point.

You can see the square rusted 'steps' in both of the overhead shots you posted, PLUS Lee Stringers trainjob photos mention that the steps were preexisting.
