Jayne's shotgun

Episode 4 - Shindig

Jayne's shotgun

Postby Harbinger » Fri Jun 19, 2009 8:49 pm

So what is that piece on the shotgun Jayne picks up when he hears Badger and gang enter Serenity? It looks like it might be a resin custom, but hoping it's a found piece...

If I am remembering the right scene, it's a folding stock.

I don't think it's a stock... it looks like almost like a smaller version of the ammo drum of a Aliens Pulse Rifle.

Huh. Cool, you were right. Shame it is a stock... kind of hoping it was a cool ammo clip. Ah well.

I still laugh at Badger's man carrying the magazine-less AK-47 in that ep.

It's easy to forget just what a low budget show it was to shoot. I know a lot of it seems funny to us, but we're pretty gun savvy.

Most people look at the object in the actor's hand a say 'gun'. Good enough.

I'm gonna say it's a Mossberg. Either a Model 500 (Persuader) or 590 (Mariner). Although the finish on the screen-used piece is unusually bright.

I've seen the shotgun in person, don't know what make or model is though.

The finished is even brighter in the flesh. Might be stainless.....
