I've found similar ones in that they are astrological cards, but mine are not as plain.

I just display mine as "money" instead of playing cards since they're intricately engraved and shiny and gold colored.
May have been on the losin' side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

About two years ago I bought a pack of 50 of them on eBay from Australia.
I forget the search words that got me there.

Here is something close:
http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Chinese-Talisma ... 286.c0.m14

So words like: Gold Golden Chinese Talisman Card
will yield results, but I'm sure I'm missing some.

Happy Searching!

They were purchased in Chinatown in LA.

They are Astrological and have symbols for the animals of the Chinese Horoscope on them: Rat, Rooster, Dog, etc...

They might also be known as prayer cards or good luck amulets, and on one side I believe they show Quan Yin, the Chinese Bodhisattva of Compassion.

I'd be interested in finding some more of the screen accurate versions, too.
I bought a set that's got 5 Chinese characters under the Buddha instead of 3, plus they're a bit smaller than the screen used ones.

Picked these up over the years from at least 3 different people.

Was trying to collect all 12 animals and then read that the screen-used cards weren't even a whole set. Still missing a couple and have some repeats but I figured 14 was enough.
