Silver Food Box

Episode 4 - Shindig

Nice to see you chasing after this one!

The silver box is the right size and shape for an ice cream sandwich box holding multiple ice creams, but it also reminds me of the silver box packaging and foil packs that york peppermint patties come in.

Couldn't find a bigger image at the moment...

It's definitely not their new packaging, but it could have been from a box an exact number of years back.

As William said, it is nice to see someone tackling this! This has been a very elusive item. What you have done so far Elisabeth looks great.

I always think of York's too, William. But i think it is another product entirely. To me, it looks like the lettering and the yellow dot are part of the actual packaging.

Thanks! I still need to clean up the paths on the symbols, and maybe find a different texture for the orange symbol. Oh, and redo the I symbol...so basically, what, the entire thing? Ha.

As far as the silver box goes, it reminds me of the box that you get Cream Cheese in when you buy it in the big 4lbs blocks, from Costco and such. But that might not be quite the right dimensions.

I had an epiphany. We used to get these round biscuits that came in individual foil packages in tall boxes with a center perf from the local Korean market. It wasn't in a silver box, and I can't remember what they were called, but it's something like this...

Elisabeth, GREAT WORK!

William, I have been searching, but no luck, but your idea will take me in a new direction.

Years later... I just had this snack identified:

ⓘ네트

iNet or "ahyineteu" (아이네트는)

Image
From Shindig.

Image
Scanned image of box.

Image
From press release of May, 2000.

Image
Still images from the 2000 commercial.

What I can glean is that they were from Haitai Confectionery and they are natural coconut cookies. They were vaguelly themed around the idea of "INTERNET" and "CHAT ROOMS".

EDIT:

There is next to nothing online about these things. Dug deep into the WayBack machine and found some of these images on the Haitai's site from 2000.

Product image.

Print advertisement from 2000.
